A GREAT BIG THANK YOU from the Deer Park Community Food Pantry. During the month of May we gave out 63 baskets of food, helping to feed 256 people. Bags were filled with items donated by many generous people.
Students, parents, teachers, support staff and administrators of Deer Park Independent School District have worked hard to help us keep the shelves stocked. We have received food collected by Deer Park letter carriers, Central Baptist Church, Faithbridge Church, Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church, Deer Park United Methodist Church, Lubrizol, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, AARP, Archives OES, Clean Harbor, Deer Park Tigers and Starlights. Deer Park Police Department collected and delivered food contributed at National Night Out. The Deer Park Fire Department collects and delivers barrels of food to us just before Christmas each year. Financial contributions are also received and used to purchase food when we run short. The Crossover Program at DPUMC has been generous to the food pantry. These students prepare hand decorated and written notes to put into each basket of food that we give to clients.
This is an incomplete list of those who contribute to the Deer Park Community Food Pantry. There are also individuals who donate regularly and volunteers from several area churches who work at the pantry. We are located on the east side of Deer Park United Methodist Church, 1300 East 13th Street in Deer Park. We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m.
